Pointe Coupee Bed & Breakfast resides in the Samson House, a spacious raised Creole plantation home. It was
constructed in 1835 near the Mississippi River by a wealthy landowner from France. Typical Caribbean architectural
influence is apparent in the all cypress structure.
This lovely restored home is embellished with antique furniture and fine collectibles as well as unusual "finds: of the
period".
Historic appointments include 3 original French wraparound mantels & solid wood French doors in the
interior rooms. A relaxing Living room and finely appointed Dining room a just part of the delights that await you.
Just steps away
from the front & rear galleries you will experience the West Indies "Louisiana Style."
The "New Orleans" courtyard & grounds offer a delightful bird sanctuary. Featured for your enjoyment are a
cypress covered brick patio with an open hearth fireplace. The summer kitchen & commissary are complete with a
unique herb garden. On site there is a blacksmith shop that creates vintage artifacts. Nearby a gentle fountain is now
part of a very old & large syrup kettle once used on the plantations. Your visit is not over until you've rested in the
hammock house & stargazed in the formal boxwood garden. There is a serene new swimming pool for your added
pleasure.
